How can I get my listing to be seen?

I've had my Etsy shop open for a while but I'm just now getting it off the ground. It seems like when I list an item and then do a search for it, I can find everything in the world EXCEPT my listing. I know it is something I am doing wrong...but I've done my homework and feel like I'm assigning all the right tags. Please help!! I just want my things to be seen!

I think you need to go through the Seller Handbook and do a self assessment for your shop. You're missing out on a host of SEO tag opportunities that would seriously help you to be found. Do the assessment, make the changes to your shop title, welcome, policies etc. and see what happens.

I would start using all your keywords. Try including colors and patterns that are relevant to the different bags. Also write up a shop title and announcement, I understand that they are both searchable. Hope this helps! Good luck!

You have the single word bag in your tags twice. Take one of those out and fill it with something else. Use all 13 tag spaces to get yourself found. Keyword phrases work better than single words. Here's some tag suggestions:

baby diaper bag
pink diaper bag
diaper bag girl
diaper caddy

baby bag
baby bag diaper
pink blue diaper bag (if it fits)
cotton diaper bag
cotton tote bag
cotton baby bag
Pink tote bag

I'd change Carry All in your title to two words. When I typed 'carryall' in the search box nothing came up for suggestions, but when I typed it as two words I got carry all bag, carry all tote bag and carry all tote. I'd also include the words tote bag in your title, along with colors and maybe even the fabric. Repeat the same keyword phrases in your title, description and tags.

I agree with Elisabeth above that you need a shop title and announcement. Those are all things that google picks up on. For shop title (the words under the name of your shop), it should say exactly what you sell. They don't give you a lot of characters to work with so make it short and to the point (see mine for an example). Your shop announcement should repeat those words in the first sentence. Tell a story and sell yourself in your shop announcement.

You've only got 8 items in your shop. A good shop will have a wide variety of items in each section, probably at least a page in each section.

I'd suggest that you continue to work on your SEO and add many more items to your shop.

If you were to go to a B&M and see only 8 items on the shelf, how long would you stay?
