How are my prices?

Would anyone mind taking a look at my prices and advising on them? I've had a few non-etsians tell me my prices seem a little low, but I thought I'd run it by this team before making any changes--a second opinion, if you will.

I also had it suggested to me that I raise my prices and work my shipping cost into the prices, then market "free shipping" as a selling point. I'm not sure I want to do that because I do a lot of selling internationally and I'm not sure how I'd work international shipping into that.

Thanks in advance.

Re: How are my prices?

It seems like you've got room to raise your prices by a couple of dollars without driving off any potential customers. You could at least double your adjustable flower rings, I think.

I'm not a huge fan of working shipping costs into prices, if only because Etsy takes a cut of profits but not shipping and I need every cent of that to cover costs without taking a loss. Whether it's in the product cost or seperate, the buyer it still paying for it but I suppose it a physcological thing.

Re: How are my prices?

Thanks, Vanessa. Working shipping cost into prices appeals to me because of the current form I'm using for inventory tracking; it doesn't have a space for shipping collected, and I'm not a pro with excel so I don't now how to add one in so it all still calculates properly. But at the same time, it doesn't appeal to me because I'm not sure how I'd deal with international shipping.

Do you think raising my prices would help sales? I'm not selling much lately; most of my sales are on craft supplies, not handmade items, but I don't want to raise my prices if it's going to perpetuate that trend. I've also heard people say that sometimes low prices are off-putting, like the seller doesn't value the items. So I'm looking into that, too, and hoping I can make the right decision.

Thanks again.

Re: How are my prices?

I think that raising your prices on your handmade items would probably help your sales. People tend to look at price as a reflection of quality, so seeing things that cost less than similar items in other shops makes people think it's because the item is lower-quality and not worth as much. Another thing that might help with sales of your handmade items is to organize your shop so that more handmade items show up on your first page. When I first looked at your shop, I thought you were only selling supplies.

Re: How are my prices?

I agree with Ariella, the price can reflect the product's quality. People shop on Etsy to find unique handmade products which do cost slightly more. So try raising your prices a little and see how it works.

You have a very cute shop! :)

Re: How are my prices?

You totally should raise your prices. Bias Tape usually sells for at least 3$. Since yours are vintage they are basically ooak so you should be able to squeeze out more.

As far as everything else goes, I would price your items so you could sell them at 50% off, and still make a profit, if a vendor like Urban Outfitters approached you and wanted a wholesale deal.

Re: How are my prices?

That's a good point, Ariella--didn't think to reorganize so the supply items blend in with the rest a bit better. Definitely something to fix and keep in mind for future listings.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I'll definitely need to redo my prices.
