How Much Will You Spend On Promote Listing?

As noticed the search ads is replace by the new Promote Listing system today. I've setting up the new promote listing, but seem like the impression so far is almost 0, I'm curious whether it's working. (my minimum budget is $3 daily)

Not sure whether my budget setting was too low, will like to know what is the decent budget should put to make more effective out of the spend, what is your daily budget spending?

First of all, search ads have been wonky the last couple of days (for us, they've only been letting us spend $2 or so instead of the normal $7). So I'm not sure that Promoted Listings is bug-free.

Secondly, do you know when Promoted Listings is scheduled to start? It's only 5am in NYC. I don't see any impressions at all but maybe that is because it hasn't gone into effect yet?

I have 0 impressions on the new Promoted Listings also. And I stopped my search ads campaign yesterday trying to get it working again, and it wouldn't let me restart them. Curious to see when they actually start the promoted listings....

I believe most sellers is affected by new changes on Etsy. Hopefully improvement will be done soon.

I don't waste my money on paid advertising.
If I did, it would be outside of Etsy.

I spent money on promoting my listings when I opened my shop a year ago and I received one sale form my promotions, that was very disappointing to me. I no longer spend money on promotions. I want to make some money too, I don't want Etsy Administration to be the only ones making money, but that is what I felt like when I spent my money on promotions.

We use them and do pretty well. (we spend about 5-10% of what we get in return).

How can you tell it's a waste already if they just started today?

I only got five impressions so far, no clicks, no money spent. If someone clicks I'll assume they're actually interested.

I set my budget to one dollar a day but I don't count on spendin that much with the few listings I activated.

They say that it should spend your whole budget - this would be very different from Search Ads, where I had to set a weekly budget of $2,500 (two thousand five hundred) just to get them to spend $35 or so.

We'll see, though. So far, 33 cents spent.

Ya agree with Matthew and Sara, this new promote listing is very much different from Search Ads, If promote listing is same as others ads system, then It will spend all the daily budget you set. But not sure how Etsy Promote listing work, lets see.

My stats page says that the new search ads will be starting Oct 1st now.

Hi @Amy, maybe it take time to change across all the account. Because mine it show the Promote listing is active and Search Ads campaign is no longer running. Anyway did you setting up your promote listing before 9th Sep?

I don't spend any $ on promotion (for either of my two shops). But I do make sure to spend time/money increasing the number of items available in my shops and releasing/renewing these items (when they expire).

My impressions are almost non existent , the were low before but now if I get 4 a day that is amazing , I'm spending 5 dollars, can anyone help on this issue?

I am trying the promoted listing to see if I get more sales than the search ads but I am already noticing that just for two views on one of my necklaces (most expensive one ) is costing me just over a $1 of my $2 daily budjet ! I like to try and have a personal experience so I know how things work but so far today I am not so impressed yet but maybe I should wait just few more days and see
Actually I am looking forward for sales rather than views as I already have averagely 250 to 350 views a day which is good for me

You don't HAVE to use the suggested bid by etsy. For many of my items I put in lower bids ($0.05) and they still show up. Less frequently, but still.
That way you don't run out of your budget so fast.

Personally I'm still testing too. Some of my listings are set low, and others auto, so I can see what really happens.

I won't be spending anything at all on Search ads on Etsy.

I much rather reach the world outside of Etsy since its a much larger market.

Definitely depends on how precisely Etsy's shopper profile meets your target market.
