Holy PHOTOFLOOD...

Not only do I feel like I have a tan on half of my face but I also think I might be losing vision in my right eye (I now have to wear sunglasses when taking photos, but I still feel like I'm going blind). I just started using this photoflood light and dang, I don't even know. Not only am I worried about half a face tan but now I'm worried about my eyes. Taking photos has become even more time consuming with the use of this new suggested light bulb.

Does anyone use this type of light bulb? Do you feel like you're getting an instant tan or going blind? What time of sunglasses are you using, if any? If not, how in hay are you using this bulb without going blind?

Re: Holy PHOTOFLOOD...

I would stop using anything that causes you problems. My husband used photo floods for photographing paintings and I remember the warning that says not to look into those light. Your eyesight is way more important than your photographs.

Re: Holy PHOTOFLOOD...

Stop using the light immediately if you are having skin irritation of eye problems. This is NOT normal, and could be a malfunction in the chemistry in the bulb (high mercury bulbs can cause issues). I use a couple of LED lamps that work well and don't give me a headache (I'm sensitive to some lights and get migraines easily).

Re: Holy PHOTOFLOOD...

I do have light sensitive eyes so I thought that this was perhaps the reason. But I have noticed that after using it I feel a certain "stress" in my right eyeball (which is normally the eyeball that closest to the light) as if I didn't blink and was playing video games for hours.

Glad I only paid $7 for the bulb. Looks like this is going to get trashed.

Re: Holy PHOTOFLOOD...

D: Yikes!

I use natural light and Photoshop (the latter being my very best friend where photos are concerned.)
