High on Freecycle!

I don't know where this belongs but I just want to tell everyone about freecycle.org. It's awesome!! You can get rid of anything you want to get rid of and "free cycle" it to someone who's happy to have it, and/or you can request things you want.
I'm doing a massive garage clean-out and had about 5 boxes of books to give away, specifically psychology and Buddhism books and didn't want to take them to Goodwill so I joined Freecycle.org, listed the books, got about a dozen responses within hours, and voila! The books have a new home, I have removed clutter from my garage AND made someone very happy. A true win-win situation. And it was so fast and easy. I feel like Santa Claus. I've already listed 2 more things that aren't really appropriate for Goodwil - again, many many responses within hours -l and it feels so great to make someone happy AND get rid of stuff I don't want need or use anymore.
Maybe it will be great for you, too!

Re: High on Freecycle!

I love freecycle. Whenever we do a clean-out I just post a general description of the items and say they'll be left at the bottom of our driveway "first come first served". Nothing is ever left. :)

Re: High on Freecycle!

Freecycle is the best. Everyone on there is super nice and whenever I give things away you can really sense that they are truly grateful to have the things.
I love it!

Re: High on Freecycle!

I've been part of freecycle for a few years. Whenever I have something that needs a new home I post it on freecycle and it's usually gone within a few days. I've scored some pretty good finds on freecycle myself (a brand new scrapbooking tote bag has been my best score to date - I use it all the time). I mostly give things away these days because of the time and gas involved with picking stuff up.

Too bad Freecycle is hardly alive where I live (in Belgium).
I bet I would love it too.

I've heard of this, but never given it a try. Thanks for the reminder!
