Re: Help!!!

I'm sure other, more qualified sellers will chime in here but I would suggest you join a team geared towards SEO. Here is a link from the team ( Relevancy and SEO) that I belong to: https://www.etsy.com/teams/11352/relevancy-and-seo-for-all-etsy-shops/discuss/14907695/
It's a basic SEO summary. Good luck!

Re: Help!!!

I think if you can divide your items into some sections, more will show on your shop first page. Right now, the customer sees your 4 featured frames, and then it says "See all items (40)". If you could figure out sections by frame color, or theme, or gender or something, your sections will show more pictures of your frames on your first page.
How many teams are you on? If you join some promotion teams, you might generate some favorites or views that way. Best to you.

Re: Help!!!

First off you don't have an avatar photo, which automatically turns me off. Your banner has nothing to do with your shop, and I can see you taking photos of your items which is a little disturbing. Just a few tips from clicking on your shop page, not even looking into listings at all.

Re: Help!!!

Take the glass out of the frames ( and the store picture) before you shoot. You can put a piece of white or coordinating solid cardstock in as a "picture" for continuity. Stop using your flash. You're shooting in front of a window, but from the wrong side. There's a deep shadow and no one can see your product. I use a white posterboard taped at the top and resting on a box in front of my open front door. Then I face my product so the natural light hits it from the front.

You will also find that using licensed products like Hello Kitty may sell things, but the copyright holder has a right to have Etsy pull your listings if you get reported.

Re: Help!!!

I only clicked on the first photo, there is no description about the frame you are showing, dimensions etc, that's where people would look for the info.
I agree with Erin ref. photo's.
Wishing you good luck and many sales, be patient and keep on learning, it takes time.

Re: Help!!!

Deb, at this early stage in the game I wouldn't worry at all about views. Rather i would suggest that you finish building the 'foundation' for your shop.

A good shop has a shop banner, shop announcement, shop title, shop polices and 'about the artist' page in place before any items are listed. Once you've put those in place then you can work on your item photos, titles, tags and descriptions.

A description of
""How chic is this frame? Black and white frame looks very continental. ""

tells me nothing about what you are selling. What size is it? What is it made of? Does it hang or is it meant to sit on the table?

It looks like it has glass in it since in the one photo I can see the reflection of whomever took the picture.

Is there any reason why you are charging $40 for shipping within the USA? Do you not think that is a bit high considering the frame only costs $40?

I see that you are accepting Etsy Direct Checkout. Is there any reason why you aren't accepting Paypal since its the most used method of purchasing online?

You may want to read the "Critique your own Shop" blog post at
etsymentors.blogspot.com/p/critique-your-own-shop.html
to help you get started.

You may also want to reconsider the use of licensed names such as 'Hello Kitty' unless you have written permission to do so.

Once you've got your shop set up then you can start to market to your target customers. (Etsy doesn't do your marketing for you)

Good luck with your new venture!

Re: Help!!!

You need to fill out all 13 tags. Also, I noticed that many of your listings have variations that read like tags. Variations are only needed if you offer the item in a different size or color. For example, the variations on the "vintage picture frame" read:
5 x 7 inches
cosume jewelry inches
vintage jewelry inches
pearls inches
wood or plastic inches

But the only tags for that listing are the three from the categories: "Everything Else," "Custom," and "Frame"
And one tag that you put in: "wood frame"

No tags equals no views.

Others hear can help you better than I, but that was something I noticed that hadn't been mentioned.

Many good wishes!

Re: Help!!!

I'd like to chime in on what the others said. Since we are all online businesses and 99,99% of our customers will not be able to take the items in their hands and turn them around to look at it from all angles, it is our duty to provide good photos and descriptions to give them as much info as possible so they decide on buying it. That of course goes hand in hand with clear shop policies and good seo
Good luck and many sales

Re: Help!!!

Hi Deb,
I would suggest...
1 - An avatar photo.
2 - Change your banner to something relevant with your shop or shop name.

3 - Take your photos on a white/plain backdrop.
4 - Don't use your flash... ever!
5 - Take the glass out the frames so you have no reflection.
6 - Put a white piece of paper inside the frame and don't use the insert the frames come with.
7 - I suggest reading some of the really good etsy blog posts on photographing your products for selling online, they'll give you advice on how to get the best natural lighting to take photos. Its quite difficult to see your frames as there are a lot of shadows and most are quite dark.

8 - Completely fill in your policies!! This lets buyers know how you operate. Most will not buy if there are no policies.

9 - You've put variations in where you shouldn't. I think you've thought that is where you write in item descriptions? Put more info in your descriptions, sizes etc. Also for me I'd want to know what glue you're using to adhere the embellishments onto the frame so I know if they'll stay on for a long time.
10 - Your shipping costs are wrong too, I think you've thought this is the price of the item again as all the shipping prices are the same as your prices for your frames? The shipping costs are how much you charge for packing and shipping the item.

11 - TAGS TAGS TAGS!!!! Fill them ALL in, descriptive words and use 2-3 words for each tag. ie. dog photo frame, grey frame, plastic frame, etc If you don't have your tags filled in then no one can find you when they search for items.

12 - I would always keep clear of copyrighted materials, you can get yourself into a lot of bother.

Hope this helps, it takes an awful lot of work to get your shop set up properly. But you have to put the effort in to reap the rewards.
Good luck :)
