Help!

I joined etsy in December of last year, I have only nine sales so far. I get views all the time but does not really transform in to sales as I expected. Please I need your help. I would like to understand why viewers are not buying my creations

Thank you!

Re: Help!

Nice work. To me, it seems like anything over US$30 is difficult to sell.

Re: Help!

wonderful shop. i will say i don't think your sales are that bad. my shop really didn't get too steady until after a year. i still only have 16 sales. on a few listings i noticed $28 for shipping. shipping can be costly, but have you looked in to flat rate shipping? maybe you can bump up the item's price by a few dollars and lower the shipping. just something to think about. in the meantime, keep reading everything you see on this site...forums, handbook, terms of use, and on teams.
good luck!

Re: Help!

Lanre,

First- I know *nothing* about art. So... grain of salt here, okay?

I was actually surprised by your prices- they seem low to me but remember ^^ Especially the prints- I know they're prints but they're still amazing and it seems like they should cost much more. Low prices can turn people away.

Maybe tweak your tags- sometimes complete phrases are more of a hindrance than help. Maybe try separating some of the phrases to be more simple?

Maybe make better use of your shop announcement for SEO.

I know that it's expensive to ship artwork but maybe build it into the price of your work so that you can offer free shipping?

Amanda's right- you do have really awesome work! The colorful nature of your work might enable you to market toward nursery/children's art? Not sure if you want to go that direction but the right people WILL buy your work.

I am not your target market because I am on a tight budget and buying artwork (while I would LOVE to fill my house with beautiful work), is not an option. And again, I know NOTHING about art so...

But good luck to you! There are ALWAYS things to tweak, even on the best shops!

Cheers,
Nicky :)

Re: Help!

with this listing
http://www.etsy.com/listing/99221083/3d-circular-painting-sculpture-wall
i am curious what the back and/or inside look like. how does it hang? do you provide that stuff or do I buy the wall kit at the store? all these basic details are the ones that help your customer understand what they would want to do with it.

Re: Help!

Thank you Starfishbaby for the comment!, I do have a lot of items below $30, My first and second sales were $500 each, and all the cheaper items below $30 did not sale at all.

Re: Help!

$30 plus items shouldn't be difficult to sell if you can market to the right customers. Just my thought.
