Help with my Shop...

Hi!

I opened my shop on Esty in November 2011 and have not had much luck, since then i just gotta make ONE sale.

This month I have decided to change all products in my store and devote myself to another workspace that I also really like, but hardly have visitors...

Does someone can give me a hand? Is that my products are not suitable for etsy? Store presentation will be unattractive? The photos are not suitable for the products?

I would like to count on your help, please!!!

Re: Help with my Shop...

Hi Isabel ~ I just took a quick look at your shop, and my first thought is how busy your backgrounds are. You want your buyers to focus on what you are selling, and not what the background looks like, or worse, how distracting it is!

I think a background that is an earth tone and much lighter than the item you are selling will make your items 'pop' off the page. For example, a pale orange or pale brown.

Also, since what you are selling are card and scrapbooking embellishments, what about including them on a card you make, or from a scrapbook page you've made (or just go ahead and make a card and scrapbook page for people to see?)

What you're selling is really cute, and will sell here once your photos have been worked on. The photos themselves are nice and clear, and show off the details of the item, it's just the backgrounds are too much!

You want your items to sell themselves, not fight for attention with the backgrounds!

Re: Help with my Shop...

You're welcome! I meant to say up there a solid background of a lighter shade.

Also, just checking out other seller's shops to get inspired can help you make adjustments to your shop. You might read a Profile of someone who is selling pottery and want to adjust your Profile page, or you might be looking at the shop of someone who is selling scarves or crayons and get inspired by their item descriptions or photos.

Don't get discouraged, get inspired!

Re: Help with my Shop...

Few points :

♦ Images, while you have a consistent visual style - they tend to take away from the products.

♦ Profile - I recommend adding more info to your profile section

♦ SEO - Better use of all your SEO options. Keywords, titles, content areas. Etc.

Worked with this seller recenly :

Good example of photo and keywords for the most part.

Just a few of the things I saw, I hope it helps :)

My 2¢ - I run a Web Design and SEO Shop here on Etsy.

Re: Help with my Shop...

Hi Isabel, I think most things have been said already. I also think you need to add a shop title/header that describes what you sell, and I think you should also get an avatar. A lot of the time when I see those blank grey profile face images I think "buyer". Having one makes you seem more professional, and clear at a glance that you're a seller.

Also you need to add more items. Try to ultimately get to 100, but 50 or even 25 is OK. A lot of folks are surprised they aren't selling, well remember the more items you have, the more possible ways that buyers will be able to enter your shop. Good luck!
