Help with double order

Has anyone ever gotten two identical orders from the same person at basically the same time before? There are two separate order numbers the customer paid twice but the order was for the same number and the same items in both. I'm hesitant to ship both because it looks like an error. I sent a convo the day of the order with no response and today I sent an email to the customer with no response. I don't want to delay his shipment. I was wondering if anyone has dealt with a similar experience.

That is odd. I have never had this happen to me. It sounds like he made a mistake.

I would try one more time to send a convo with an exact copy to their e-mail address. Hopefully your customer will respond this time.

I confess I have ordered identical supplies a couple of times in the past. In my favor, they were not ordered on the same day and at the same time, but with a few days in-between. When I realized my mistake, I just stored the supplies and kept going.

I had this happen to me recently, I took a big gamble I cancelled one of them and shipped the other one.
I sent her a note explaining that I thought it might be a mistake, and I refunded the duplicate order.
Turns out it was NOT a mistake, but she was very grateful I had her back.

In my case, my client order the same set of cupcake wrappers one after another. She didn't realized that she ordered twice until I contacted her, so I canceled the other one.

I understand the dilemma you are facing. Hope your customer will respond soon!

I had a customer order 3, $95 tree toppers, one right after the other. I thought I was dreaming. Then I contacted her, and she was an older lady, new to Etsy. Each time she ordered, then saw that it was no longer in the shop, she thought she had missed out on it, and ordered another. She actually contacted me, and didn't even realize it had happened 3 times. Email is often the best way, since people may not get convo notifications. When I have had questions about orders and couldn't contact someone, I've had to wait an extra day and it usually works out ok. Trust your gut and remember, a good review may be worth the extra soap since your shop is new. If the order is not too big, it may just be safer to include the extra with the 2 order numbers. Worst case, she sees her mistake and asks for a refund. Best case, she is glad you sent both and you communicate your concern, but decided to send her both... and she leaves a good review.

There was a problem with the etsy program not too long ago. I had the same problem--the customer cancelled her orders. I contacted her and we sorted it out--she contacted me she only wanted one item. I told her I would only send the one item she wanted and cancel any duplicate orders. Contact the customer before shipping both orders or canceling one! Good luck!

I agree about sending emails. I send emails AND convos.
