Help with a photo

I've posted a similar question before and I tried the suggestion with no luck. I have knitted two bags and am wanting to list them but have no idea how to photograph them. Someone suggested before wearing the bag, but I found that those pictures didn't really look good. I also tried putting it on a chair, but that just looked silly. So any other suggestions would help. ( I also tried putting them on white bristal board and that didn't really work out either)

Here are the photos that I have on my instagram of them, I have them hanging on a hook on the bathroom door lol

the last one is my favorite. Just a solid white background. One small nail to hang your bag and then go to picmonkey.com to brighten the pictures up.

the last photo you linked is good, just needed a white background and to brighten the photo.

Re: Help with a photo

How would you suggest I get that white background when I don't have a white door in my place? Do you think I could tape my white bristol board to the door? LOL

Re: Help with a photo

For all my photos I use FotoFuze. It whitens the background of any pic and it's free. Try it!

Re: Help with a photo

you can buy a large poster board or you could paint a section of your wall?!?

I just bought a poster board and it worked wonders for getting a crisp background. And yes you could just tape the bristol board to your door assuming its long enough. you are going to have to punch a hole in the board for the nail to hang the bag so make sure you measure to see where the nail needs to go first.

I had too much trouble with fotofuze so I personally don't recommend it, but maybe you will have better luck with it.

Re: Help with a photo

I like the background color you have on the beige/brown bag. Is that the color of the door ? The blue one doesn't look so good because there is a reflection on the background but I think with a piece of light grey or off-white cardboard you could make that work.

Re: Help with a photo

When I used to make cowls, I would just buy a large white posterboard and tape it up to a wall. Then I would hammer in tiny nail, put a wooden hanger on it and snapped away! It was really easy and then I went back in with fotofuze to clean it up.

The results weren't too shabby for just starting out with photography either!

Re: Help with a photo

you probably could hang a white fleece blanket to your wall to use as the background..that looks like what the bag (the last linked bag I posted in my first post) is up against. once you use picmonkey to brighten the picture you shouldn't be able to tell its a blanket. just make sure all wrinkles are out and that the blanket is as flat as possible to your wall. its at least worth the try. pictures are always the hardest to concur, next to tags/titles.

@maria- your photo results with the poster is really good. I think that would be the easiest way to go.

Re: Help with a photo

Maybe try tacking up a white sheet tightly to the wall. Then use photoshop or another photo-editing program to whiten it up even more. Good luck!!
