Help with Accepting International Payment

Hi there!

I have a customer that would like to purchase an item, however, paypal will not accept her international payment. I tried to select 'bank transfer' as a payment method I accept on my etsy account settings, but it is not listed as an option. Is there a way to safely and securely accept her international payment?

I have had many international purchases in both shops and have never encountered this problem. It may be something not set up correctly on her side, and I'm hoping someone more experienced can help here.

I agree with TinyTip. International purchases usually go smoothly via Paypal if all the information is complete and up-to-date. I would advise the buyer to check the status of her account (address, card information, etc). Last but not least, enough funds available to pay for the purchase once they covert the funds to US dollars. Hope this helps.

The only time I've had problems with international payments is when they try to ship to an address that is different than their registered PayPal address.

It almost sounds like one of those "scam" tactics. Saying something like PayPal won't accept my credit card so I would like to transfer the money directly to your account, all I need is your account number, name, address, social security number, pin number and a blood sample and then I will make the transfer and have my agent pick it up along with your cash for the overage I will be paying you.....

Thanks everyone! I was able to just invoice them through pay pal. Although this way it was not purchased through Etsy (which I would have preferred). I was definitely hesitant to give my banking information. I'm glad I worked something out and hope its not an issue in the future!

What country is it? That just sounds suspicious to me...
