Help needed for text printing with epson r3000

Hello everyone

I am a wedding planner based in Italy, I usually outsource all clients needs but like to be independent for small printing things such as place cards or almond confetti flavors so I bought a second hand epson r3000
It arrived yesterday and after my initial enthusiasm, I'm already regretting it.
I'm going crazy trying to stamp text on pearl paper, it just looks smudged.

Do you have any suggestions that could help me?

Thank you

Annalisa

Re: Help needed for text printing with epson r3000

I use an r2000. They are great printers, but not too great with the fine text detail. But it shouldn't look smudged though. You could try doing test prints on the highest quality setting and just play around with the different settings. You may also need to do a print head alignment, that could definitely be causing it.

Is pearl paper glossy? make sure you selected the correct paper type when printing. Have you tried it on regular paper? Maybe the ink isn't drying fast enough on the pearl paper.

That's all I can think of. I got a lot of help when I first got my printer at www.dpreview.com/forums

It's a photo review site but they talk a lot about printers. Just ask that question in the forums and they will be glad to help you.

Hope that helps :)

Sorry this happened. Definitely clean and align the printer heads. Great advice above. Good luck!
