I don't know what I'm doing wrong, any help or advice on why I have no sales?

Your shop is still very new. I didn't get a sale for a few months. However, the more items you list, the most likely sales are.

Also, favorite shops and items and start following other people. They will do the same for you and your shop will get more publicity.

Wish you the best.

Re: Help/advice desperately needed!

Have some patience, you have only been open for a couple weeks. You should work on your tags, use two word tags instead of just one, i.e. marshmallow clips, marshmallow accessory... ect. You should also work on your policies, do you accept custom orders? Maybe add to your banner, put your shop name or something on there. You need to add a shop announcement, let people know who you are, what you do, why your selling and so forth. Are you pricing to make a profit? You should add more to the item description, describe the item like your'e talking to who can't see it. Oh and you should use all five pictures, photograph your items from all angles.
I hope that this advice helps. You have really cute stuff, you just have to get people into your shop!

Re: Help/advice desperately needed!

you should add more items, so people have more than one chance to find you out there in the big world of etsy.
i also agree with rozetta, your prices are quite low
other than that i think you should work on your pics. the better they are the better the chances people will buy even if you only have a few items.
have a nice weekend!!

Re: Help/advice desperately needed!

Hi Hanna

Think of it this way. There are MILLIONS of items on etsy and you only have 16 of them. This makes it very hard for people to find you. You really need to have at least 100 items to get more exposure. Also you need to join and research some SEO teams to learn how to use titles/tags to their best ability. I would also work on your photography. You need bright, clean, and professional pictures. Try natural sunlight and ipiccy.com.

Re: Help/advice desperately needed!

Ah right, thanks guys! C: there's a limit to how much I can list as I'm very poor, so it's a vicious cycle, but I can try, and I shall take all your suggestions into consideration :)

Re: Help/advice desperately needed!

Hanna...I understand the money issue, however if you are planning on making this your business and you want to be successful at selling your work, you might want to consider taking out a small business loan. You have to spend money to make money. All business owners have to start with a business start up cost. Think of it as an investment. You plan on being a business owner and making money, so invest some money into your business. Look into loans and see what options are available to you.

Best of luck

Re: Help/advice desperately needed!

Also I would reword your 'about' intro. It sounds very unprofessional. You say you're poor, you sleep all day and you don't do anything.

I get that your trying to be 'cute' but you might scare off customers..Just my personally thought.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Currently minus poor (is that even at all possible?) and just scraping by. Being a kitten who sleeps all day helps with the no-money problem considering I don't do anything :')

This kitten also happens to be obsessed with all things Japan and alternative fashion, as well as cosplaying. Because fuck yeah, cosplay.

I am personally grateful to anyone who helps this girl-cat-thing out by buying the items I make for my shop (most of which will soon be up). It is much appreciated~

Happy buying :)

Re: Help/advice desperately needed!

good point casi made, but this also means you have to up your prices because if you consider etsy fees, paypal fees and materials costs nothing will be left
i started my business with 50€ from a piggy bank and by now i have a wallet with money i put aside to buy supplies (~ 200€) and everything that goes beyond that goes into a piggy bank and i collect it to afford one or the other thing.

You might want to take a look at the Seller's Handbook. It's stuffed with tons of great information! Best of luck!

Re: Help/advice desperately needed!

From someone who is into the anime scene, try using 'lolita', 'sweet' 'kawaii' 'cosplay' in your descriptions. The hairclips give me that vibe.

There are a lot of characters Etsy gives you in your descriptions. Use as many as you can and don't worry or not if the description makes 'sense' by reading it.

Also give your items a story. Tell us why you chose the cupcakes. Telling someone that it's resin glued to a hairpin may be the process, but perception is key. They won't think much effort has gone into it. Do you bake? Like sweets? Can't resist to try out the newest recipes on Pinterest? Maybe there is a reason you have sweet-inspired things. We would love to know and so would your customers!

You've made the first step by being here. Follow what the others have said (they're more established than I) and you'll be on your way. But do take this time to beef up the store. I have less items than you and I am so guilty of that. But it's coming!

Re: Help/advice desperately needed!

I agree with Casi (above) - consider re-writing your "about" section. I frequently read about a shop before purchasing. Do they seem professional? not? Etc...
However, your about section seems very mishap. On top of it, I am immediately turned off with the use of profanity - slam...I'm out of the shop. Personally, I think it's uncalled for. But, that's just me. Maybe you disagree ...just a thought

Re: Help/advice desperately needed!

I didn't expect anyone who came to my shop to look at my own page as my shop's about section is different, but I changed it anyways :)

Thanks for all the advice guys, I shall keep them in mind ^-^

I think your items are very sweet. I would include them on Pinterest and also take a look at the Sellers Handbook.
