Help! What should I give away?!

I want to do a giveaway with the winner announced on Valentine's Day. I can't decide which item from my shop to giveaway! Has anyone ever done a giveaway and let the winner pick what they want, or should I decide beforehand what will be given away??

Any suggestions?

If I won a giveaway where I could pick whatever I want, I would go for one of the most expensive items (which could be a blow to you). If I were you, I would either decide specifically what to giveaway, or maybe giveaway a coupon for a dollar amount off your store. For example, if you gave away a $20 credit, people could use that either for one of your items in full or put it towards a more expensive piece.

Thank you for the compliment and the suggestion! I like the coupon idea. Would you suggest specifying the $20 coupon is off a purchase of $20 or more? Can we have those "rules" on our Etsy shops?

You could also specify a price range if you do a giveaway - like, the winner gets to pick their prize from any item of $30 or less.
