Help! What am i doing wrong?

I am 18 years old and have been drawing for as long as i can remember. Not till recently did i think about selling my art. I know my art is great and everyone keeps telling me i need to sell my art. SO i decided to make an Etsy. I posted a bunch the first day and tried to maintain one a day. However, my page wasn't getting enough traffic. I decided to spend 5$ a week on advertising and promoting my page. i then created a Facebook and Instagram art gallery to help promote and offer deals. i decided to purchase 250 business cards as well and hope to just get my name out there. However my page is still unsuccessful in regards to sales and views. i only have about 500 in about a week. I was hoping some experienced artist who have had success selling their art can check out my shop

and give me pointers or tips on how to promote my page and get more traffic. Please help me, im desperate i feel my art should speak for itself if it only had enough views. How can i get people to purchase my art? please help

I am no artist when it comes to drawing but I can certainly think like a buyer for you. I don't believe you have nearly enough information in your descriptions. What kind of paper are you printing it on? What method of printing do you use? Can you reassure me, as a buyer, that it will be shipped safely without any wrinkles? Also, having a photo of your print framed is great to visualize for buyers.

love your art. I would also focus on your titles. The key to Etsy success is to be found. Search for similar art work and look at their tags and titles for ideas. good luck !

List more items. Many sellers indicate that once they had 80-100 items in their shop, it made a big difference. I have another shop (hand painted ornaments) and once I had ALOT listed items, sales and views increased significantly.

Look at other art sellers - especially successful ones. What are they doing? I especially agree with Jessica, above, who indicates that you need more info in your descriptions. Of course you do! Tell your customers more...give them a reason to want to buy from you. Use all of your picture options for your listing. Show your art framed. Show your pictures hanging on a wall. Show your art matted in different ways. Your tags also need work. You use generic tags (art, modern art, print, abstract art, etc) - how about tags that are more specific to each drawing?

While your artwork is very good, it appeals to a very specific audience. This is fine if you have sufficient customers that you reach (and that want to buy) in this target arena. But, if you are looking to broaden your reach you may want to consider something with more mass appeal.

I don't spend $ on advertising and would not recommend it. Take care of all the other things first.

You are off to a good start! Good luck.

You got some good advice regarding SEO the first time you posted this question.

Just an FYI, since you copied & pasted your original post into a new thread. When you reply to a thread it brings it back to the top of the list.

Re: Help! What am i doing wrong?

Just a general thing....

Got to remember many a great artist died without selling any of their work let alone making a living off their art.
To sell art you have to be more then just an artist, have to be a business person as well. It's very possible, but it doesnt happen over night and it takes a lot of hard work.
