Help-Package never arrived

I mailed a sold item as I always do...in a 6x9 bubble mailer, with a USPS label with delivery confirmation, created through PayPal. Somehow it sat in the main sort facility here in Rochester, NY for 9 days and then 'departed' there last Friday. The final destination was to Florida. The customer hasn't received it, and USPS online tracking doesn't show any arrival in FL.

I've called my local as well as the FL post office and no one has a good answer for why it hasn't been delivered or where it is for that matter. I've had 7 other pks reach their destination in Feb...no deliveries took more than 3 days.

Has anyone else ever had a 'missing' package? What did you do?? It seems only fair to create another piece for the buyer.

I've had packages stolen, I've had packages broken into and the stuff was gone. All I could do was send another - the replacements went with a signature confirmation on them. FOr some reason, PO takes those more seriously. That's all I can tell you - if you can remake it, do it. It'll make your customer happy - also, put insurance on this one. It won't cost much, and it'll make you feel tons better.

Thanks Erin.....I hate to call myself naive ....only thought about the PO and their faulty process - never even considered theft. Yup, I'll think outside the box now!!!
