It has never happened to me but I guess the buyer will be in contact soon for a refund as the buyer would have obviously have made a payment. Then you will have to arrange for the buyer to return the "refused" package back to you at her/his expense before you return the payment. Be sure you have your item and it is in a sellable condition before returning the buyer's money. And deduct the cost of your Paypal and Etsy fees!
Well the package is already returned--it just got back to me yesterday, unopened, with a "refused" stamp on it. No word from buyer either. I've tried to contact buyer but no word. So confused!
Perhaps send a final message to the buyer (and make sure you send it to their email address not just an etsy convo) Let them know the package was returned to you with a refused stamp and ask them if they would like you to resend it (if so, they will need to pay the shipping cost to resend) Also let them know that if you don't hear back from them in 48 hours you will refund them the purchase price (less shipping) and cancel the order.
Wow, I agree with all of the above. You could almost refund the money less shipping, fees and restocking fee for all the trouble you have been put through. Not sure of you can charge a restock fee if it isn't in your policies but it is a thought.
OK, that sounds good. I sent a convo but didn't think about regular email. I just can't figure out what happened, especially with no word at all from the buyer. I so badly want to make buyers happy and hope I didn't do something wrong!!! :(
