Help! Customer is getting slammed with Sandy

I have a customer with a custom order I need feedback on and she's in Connecticut getting slammed by Sandy. I changed the shipping date from today to Wednesday in hopes she can get back to me but then what?

What if she doesn't? It's for her wedding and I HAVE to have her feedback! Do I ship it anyways?

There's really not much you can do if her internet is down. When's the wedding? Can you wait any longer and ship it overnight?

It's in 4 weeks but she expressed how she wants everything in order well beforehand.

I can wait and she did pay for the Priority shipping but I'm just concerned that Etsy could get "mad" about me not shipping when promised... if that even should be my concern? And that she will be upset I didn't ship as promised...

There really isn't very much that you can do until you hear from the customer. I'd wait as the worst of the storm is supposed to be over tomorrow.

I would also wait a day or two. It would be much longer if your shipped it and she had to ship it back.

She has no control over a hurricane so she's going to have to relax about her deadline a little. It's not like it's either of your fault. I'm sure you'll hear from her by the weekend if her area didn't have too much damage.

Thanks, I will wait to ship it unitl I hear from her. I hope she's understanding of my concern for her satisfaction... I would hate to meet the shipping deadline for her to be upset that it wasn't what she expected...

yeesh, darn hurricanes! :)

Re: Help! Customer is getting slammed with Sandy

I would wait. Shipping to the east coast is going to be delayed and honestly the postal service is swamped. It would suck even more if something happened to the order on the way. If you have time to wait, I would. Etsy doesnt have any say in your shipping and I am sure the bride would rather have it right than have the hassel of a return.

Good luck

Yes, definitely wait. I'm sure your customer will understand??? It's not something you can control!

I'd wait to ship, too. Who knows what's happening with the mail and I'd be concerned that it could get lost or delayed in the shuffle.

Re: Help! Customer is getting slammed with Sandy

I live in Ct. she will get in touch unless she lives on the coast. I have to say and I hate to say it, but if she lives on the coast, her last thoughts will be her wedding. :( Can you tell me in what city she is in? I could tell you better then.

Um... she probably doesn't have any power, as over 4 million people on the East Coast don't right now. Calm down and just wait until this national emergency is over. She has more important things to worry about than an Etsy order right now.
