Helloooo

I just like to introduce myself to the members of Etsy Success...

My name is Laurie Gee, I’m 21 and have recently won a Young Entrepreneurs’ Bursary to set up a new business designing and creating scarves. They are entirely hand-made by me using natural fabrics and traditional skills and methods, whilst maintaining an image that is contemporary, unique, desirable, luxurious and extravagant but totally workable. My ethos is to create a multi-functioning item that feels gorgeous to wear and represents individuality; a statement piece that is special enough to be one of the most cherished items in your wardrobe, worn with everything for all occasions.

My current collection consists of hand dyed, printed and illustrated fabrics. I also use techniques such as bleaching, embroidery and image transfers. The fabrics used are luxury pure cotton, silks, and wools. I design for women, men and children. The sizes tend to be generous, as it totally bugs me when I purchase a scarf and there’s just not enough of it!

I strive to create garments that sustain the image of British culture and craftsmanship combined. I deliver in all areas of my business with high quality standards from conception to completion. The scarves are meticulously created, thoughtfully and professionally labelled and packaged.

Re: Helloooo

Welcome, Laurie, and congratulations on your bursary! You do indeed create unique and wonderful pieces of wearable art.

In order to succeed in any online environment, you absolutely must learn to use good SEO and tags in your listings. There is no substitute for it. Right now your items will remain largely invisible because your tags aren't doing anything for you.

As I tell everyone here, you should go to the Relevancy & SEO team and learn as much as you can about picking the best keywords.

Then I also suggest that you read about my method, which goes a little further than they do on the Relevancy team.

One other thing, and maybe this is just me, but you look rather unhappy in your photos. I presume you want to look dramatic, and maybe that appeals to some buyers, but it doesn't to me! I'd rather see a Mona Lisa-type smile -- it makes me feel happy and more like opening up my wallet.
