Has anyone else noticed their views going down in the past few weeks?

It just seems that the items i have listed in the last few weeks have been getting minimal views. I usually list at the best time according to my google analytics and have always had consistent views, but lately nothing seems to be working. I list and then I will re-list the same item a few hours later and still end up with 1-2 views..the views seem to be trickling in. I am confused as to what changed.....is anyone else experiencing this?

I think a lot of us have been experiencing this. Less views, less sales.

Another team Captain mentioned in a post that this is typical in July and August---summertime is more laid back. They also said that Fall is much busier. Their advice was to continue listing and just be patient because Fall/Winter there will be plenty of sales.

I am choosing to agree with the slower summer theory, though this is my first summer selling here. Those holiday shoppers are all buying school supplies at the moment!

Thank you Wayfarevintage and EscargotArtsyBits, for your thoughts on this.....it gives me hope because i have been really bummed about it. This too is my first summer so I haven't quiet gone thru an entire year full circle to see any kind of patten. I really do appreciate your thoughts and I guess we just keep truckin' along :)

it works the same way in the restaurant biz. Ive been getting more views but its because I've actually started to put myself out there a lot more on the forums and facebook and bnr/bns. I havn't gotten a sale yet but I'm still hopeful

Views have also lately slowed down. But today I listed 2 items and got about 15 views each which is more than usual. Must say though, that these were 2 pencil pouches which seemingly fall in what people would be looking for right now?

I will have to agree that School is starting up this month and next month and people are looking for school supplies and back to school fashion.

Well, it seems like the "views" mystery is solved. The consensus seems to be back to school. Yeah, I guess this wouldn't be the time to shop for home decor! Let's just hope it picks up soon. Thanks again for everyone's time and thoughts on this topic.

In addition to the slow season, Etsy has updated the way that views are counted, so that your view number is more accurate.

What I'm having an issue with is the signifigant difference in views from what etsy is saying my shop is getting and what craftopolis is saying.
I'm starting to think there is a bug with etsy's veiws since two of my items have 0 views but have hearts and I can't see how that's possible.

summer business is slow in other places in addition to Etsy...the world takes a break...
