HOW is that possible??

I am confused and would love a response on this.
We had a customer make an immediate purchase with us.
I ALWAYS message our clients to check that they know what they are buying and are happy.
On speaking with this customer it was clear that she had not read the listing. She was saying all the things she wanted and I said "hold on you have purchased one mazon jar"
She then said she wanted "EVERYTHING" in the picture.
I said those items were part of the styling and were not for sale.
However I could kindly source them for her without charge or fee and I would go to vintage fairs and get them if she liked them so much?.
She agreed and asked for a custom order as she kept on saying "I WANT EVERYTHING IN THE PICTURE"
I set up a custom order and she said it was too expensive so I said what would you like to pay and it was the Equivalent of £30+ i said that was just not enough for everything in the picture and said she wanted to cancel her order! (this convo has been going on 3 days at this point) on the monday feeling drained with her constant adaptations of the price I canceled her order as she requested.
Maintaining professionalism the whole time.

Today she left a 1* review!!
Saying: The jars were a dollar then the price went up!
What on earth?? No such thing happened I have all her messages to prove it!
How could the price go up if she made an immediate purchase?
Then cancelled days later after trying to buy more?

How has she been able to even leave a review if she didnt buy anything and if I fully refunded her and cancelled her order???

Re: HOW is that possible??

I'm so very sorry this happened to you. It sounds like this person is not the most reasonable individual and arguing with her may not get you anywhere positive.

If you set a ships by date for your listings then the customer cannot leave a review until that time frame has passed (or you've actually shipped the item early), plus a short time for shipping.

The only way she could have left a review is if the time frame you included for the order "ships by date" had passed. If you did not include a ships by date, then it's possible that she could leave a review within a few days of purchase.

Looking at your reviews, I only see 5 stars reviews...

Re: HOW is that possible??

Yes she has changed to review now.
I sent a message to her saying: "how can you leave review complaining. You made an immediate purchase and then asked me what you bought? Then when I told you you said you wanted to change it then I told you the price you said no then you got a refund and your money back she said:
" I am keeping it real"...
She said I'm trying to rip people off with my prices and she has to tell everyone.
I said "you're not keeping anything real because you didn't buy anything"
and sent me a direct message and I quote: "I gave you 5 stars so you wont crying anymore"..
Shes beyond rude clearly lol

Thank you for your kind words
Blessings and love to you

Re: HOW is that possible??

Hi Betty,

That's bizarre! I don't think she should be able to leave a review if you've refunded and fully cancelled the order. If the review doesn't disappear within a few days, maybe you can contact Etsy to have it removed.

However, given how much energy you have already spent on this exchange, maybe leaving it alone is for the best since it is 5 stars, and the sentence honestly makes no sense...

& it's a new one on me that feedback can be left against a cancelled order :/

Re: HOW is that possible??

Sorry to hear that. I definitely would not create a custom listing, have a customer say "that's too high", and ask them what they would like to pay. That seems to me to open pandora's box, even more so with less than agreeable customers.

I set my prices and you can purchase or pick another product. Stay firm on your prices if you are correctly valuing your time, materials, and planning for the future of your business.

Definitely let etsy know if someone leaves feedback after the transaction was cancelled.

Re: HOW is that possible??

The only one star review I noticed was a set of girl's angel wings. The buyer wanted a refund. The listing was a generic listing--be sure to put "custom" in the title of custom listings so they can't give you bad reviews when they want a refund but you don't refund for custom items.

Re: HOW is that possible??

Hahaha sometimes it would be so good to review customers back! I would leave a public response on the review explaining, most people can spot an anomaly!
