I think it is a clear indicator that people (not all!) do not look at what has been previously posted and just go on posting their own. Which is pointless whether this is a promotional thread or not. If nobody is looking/liking your items, what is the point in posting them? It is like yelling in a crowded room... Maybe this convo will eventually be closed out.
