Google Analytics help

Okay so this has probably been asked before.....I have set up google analytics but I have not installed the tracking code correctly. Where do I paste this on my website?
Once on my etsy shop I have gone to view, page source...now what???When I right click I only see find again and select all, I can't paste the code. Help...Where and how do I paste the code? Any help would be appreciated....going around in circles,K

Hi. If you are talking about google and your Etsy shop - You need to get your Web property ID from your google analytics account then go to: Your Account >> Shop Settings >> Options then the Web Analytics Tab. and paste your Web property ID into the field and hit save.

If you are talking about adding google tracking code to your website ( not affiliated with Etsy, like your own personal website) you need to copy your google tracking code from your analytics account, and then paste in into the <head> tag of your HTML. I usually put it right before this tag in the HTML:

</HEAD>

It is for my etsy shop and I have pasted in the web property id and hit save. When I go to google analytics it says to paste in the tracking code and this is where I am stuck???
