Goodbye Esty

Last night I won a recycle art award, and was really proud to showcase my work.
I won a $1000 website and $500 cash to inspire youth to recycle. Since being on Esty it's been a nightmare. Esty marketing integrity keeps contacting me, getting emails etc. saying I am not an artist. So I have decided to leave Esty, however if you have kids and teens I would like them to check out my facebook page discarded couture. It has inspiration ideas everyday to help kids and teens to see garbage and waste in a different way. Some people say I gave up to easy but I say life is way to short to be bullied and I have work to do, to inspire generations to come.
I wish everybody the best of luck and hope you find health, happiness and above all passion in what you do, Take care, Jen

Re: Goodbye Esty

Why were they contacting you?
You would think they would have their hands full with the resellers problem (but I guess not huh?). I have looked at your shop before, I don't understand at all what people's deal was/is with your items, I think they are awesome and one of a kind! I mean it's got to be better than buying wholesale and selling on etsy as handmade :) I totally understand your position and the best of luck to you! I'm going to go favorite your facebook page when I get home so I can still see your items, I think the ideas you come up with are amazing!

Well that looks like a post a run now. Both shop and profile are gone

Re: Goodbye Esty

I'm really sorry she left - I loved her stuff. I understand it though. Apparently she was getting harassed a lot and someone who saw the item of her's that was posted on regresty reported her because he thought that all she did was take vintage dresses and cut the sleeves off or something. Of course, even if that was all she did (and I really think she did rather more than that), it would still be considered handmade by Etsy's standards. And her stuff was certainly more in line with what Etsy should be in my opinion than the dresses you see on here that were clearly handmade.....in a factory in China. I hate to see an honest seller go because of something like this :(

Re: Goodbye Esty

It seems like some people are so paranoid about re-sellers their going a little nuts reporting shops.
