Gift Certificates

When making gift certificates, how do you list them? I can't find anything similar in the "add a new item" list. Does anybody have experience with this?

Re: Gift Certificates

You have to have direct checkout set up, and the cards might not be available yet... here's the announcement:

Re: Gift Certificates

I think OP means shop-specific gift certificates, instead of the Etsy wide gift cards we will soon have access to. I've been wondering this myself, wanted to set up a couple listings for holiday shoppers. I've seen something about it, I'll look and see if I can find it and post it here.

Re: Gift Certificates

Hmmm... I listed the gift certificates, thinking that I could make coupons for the amount, but forgot we can only do a percentage off and not an actual dollar amount. The three methods listed in the above link seem somewhat inconvenient from the customer end... Any more ideas??

Re: Gift Certificates

Just food for thought, a friend told me he'd never do GCs again because it was SUCH a disappointment to get an order only to realize you've already been paid for it!

Re: Gift Certificates

The easiest way to offer store specific gift cards is to issue a code with each card.

When the card is to be redeemed, the buyer contacts you with the items that they wish to purchase and the gift card code.

You then mark the item(s) down and the buyer pays the balance.

From the seller's handbook..

Re: Gift Certificates

Here, you can check out my listing for the info you need:

I have it listed under Homemade, and then Accessories or Jewelry because that's what my shop sells.
