Getting your FB Page Noticed w/ FB ADs

So...I have had my FB Page for 10 months now.
The other day I decided I would run a FB ad for 5 days...$1.50 a day.
My FB page received 463 new fans in 5 days.
That is pretty wild.
If you are considering running a FB ad for your FB page...I would totally recommend it.
My experience has been really good.

I have my Etsy shop linked to my FB page and my FB page has My Etsy...so traffic is coming from both directions.

I just thought I would share.

Re: Getting your FB Page Noticed w/ FB ADs

do you do a lot on your FB page? I don't, so I'm not sure if I would still benefit as a way to draw attention to my Etsy shop through the link on FB.

I am very active on my page.
I am not positive but you may be able to run ads for your Etsy shop w/out having a FB page.

Re: Getting your FB Page Noticed w/ FB ADs

it does help to do ads, getting noticed is the biggest thing, sending your business card out with your bills is one way,. leave one in your mailbox for your mail person.. another way to get the word out is donate overseas to our troops, along with business cards, I did last year for their Christmas party and got alot of orders. I am now in Kuwait..

I am working on the right wording for a Facebook ad and the target market.

I would encourage you to create a business page for fans.

Do you have some suggestions on how you put together your ad? I thought it was pretty straight forward, but I'm not really having much success with things. . .

I just started an add on Sunday (two actually) and I am disappointed by the response. Do you have any tips for creating an effective ad? I would appreciate it. I really want to make the ads count. :)

Re: Getting your FB Page Noticed w/ FB ADs

Been running my ad for about a month and have not even spent my first $50.

I must be doing something wrong. And tonight I need to spend some time removing my valentines ads.

Someone asked if you need to have a facebook biz page to run ads. The answer is NO, you can send the ad anywhere. Facebook is happy to take your money. But you do need a local Biz page to get the free ads available

Re: Getting your FB Page Noticed w/ FB ADs

I just wrote on my ad:
Artist~Functional art that is groovy.
Home Decor and more.
I love creating pieces that
are Unique and Beautiful.

And then I used a picture of me working.

I chose for my ads to appear in the UK, Ireland, Italy, Spain, US & Canada.
I kept it pretty simple. The response has been great.

Re: Getting your FB Page Noticed w/ FB ADs

Interesting feedback from all ...I have been toying with this idea...I was thinking of something simple for my ad

Handmade social stationary and paperware
Cupcake picks, Paper garland, Swing tags and notecard sets
Designs to make you smile.

5 days at !.50 won't break the bank...will be interesting to try it.

Re: Getting your FB Page Noticed w/ FB ADs

@sprywhimsy - you may want to look at how your budget is being allocated. If you're running a $50 campaign over several months and it divides your daily spend evenly you aren't allowing much per day so your ads may not show much, if at all.

I forget if this was for my Google AdWords campaign or FB ad campaign, but I remember that I first did a longer campaign and wasn't getting much from it. Then I shortened it to only 10 days, which allowed for more daily budget and got much better results. I work in internet marketing and could get into much more detail about how it works if you'd like, but I'm sure you get the jist. Hope that helps!

Re: Getting your FB Page Noticed w/ FB ADs

I have done the FB Ad and have had an overwhelming response. Infact I have had severl orders from FB that I directly sent to my email . So in other words these orders paid for my ad.

They have great tips on how to make an ad...it should be catchy..so I wrote about "" Not everyone can afford Sizzlestrapz - Leave them in Envy " I get around 30 -40 new likes per day and over the corse of the month someone buys of of FB that pays for itself....so I am pretty much liking it.

Re: Getting your FB Page Noticed w/ FB ADs

I took advantage of that Small Biz contest they were offering in order to get a $150 in free advertising! I've been running a budget of $2 a day since January 26 and have received 172 clicks and 133 new fans to My Etsy tab on http://facebook.com/aquariannArt

The ad is a picture of my warrior unicorn with "Please with sparkles like aquariann's fantasy art page if you believe in unicorns and handmade magic."

Re: Getting your FB Page Noticed w/ FB ADs

One thing when running an add, I like to change the ad picture and words sometimes, because different pictures catch different attention, you can do this while running your add, you don't have to wait for add to end. I think that helps with capturing likes and such! :)

Re: Getting your FB Page Noticed w/ FB ADs

That's great! A lot of "likes" in such a short time! Congrats! :)

I still don't know what to do with my business page. I do all of my Etsy and bead and jewelry sharing and chit-chat on my personal page. Do I really need a business page? If you post something, who sees it? The people who liked you? I really don't know how it works.

Re: Getting your FB Page Noticed w/ FB ADs

Lisa - I like to use a separate biz page so that I don't always push jewelry on my friends. This way they have a choice about looking or not when I post something.

I just signed up for a week of FB ads. I'll report back when I have some results to share!
