i have had 22 sales now but only one person has left me feedback.
I am concerned that not getting feeback willl cost me sales.
I always make a point of leaving my buyers feedback but how do I go about getting feedback in return?
Should I send a convo with a thanks and ask for feedback? I dint want to sound spammy but think my business would definitely benefit if I had more feedback.

Re: Getting customers to leave feedback

I agree other sellers are much better about leaving feedback as they know the importance of it. Bonus, your supporting your Etsy community by purchasing from other sellers.

I know as a buyer, some times it just slips your mind to go and leave the feedback and then time passes and it really slips your mind! Etsy should find a way to "politely" encourage buyers to follow up with feedback.

Re: Getting customers to leave feedback

I hope Etsy does NOT find a way to encourage buyers to leave feedback, for reasons stated above. I think it's better just to leave it alone.

Mel, I love your shop...just faved it (I have 2 boys who would love items like that). I don't think you have anything to worry about!

BeaG, thank you for letting me know about the time limit...although after having read all the replies here it's re-assuring to hear it's more casual and optional.

Jaie, I'm not sure if you were offended by my mention of Ebay (ie. wild west bargain basement?). I would just like to make clear that I'm an Etsy convert, and love the personal handmade/vintage environment here...it feels like home. I may still play with Ebay for visibility but I can guarantee you wherever I can, I'll be mentioning Etsy (possibly convert afew in the process).
