Getting Custom Logo Stamps Made

Does anyone have input on what type of custom logo stamp would be good? There are so many varieties that I'm stuck as to which would be best. Would hate to order a custom logo stamp and hate how it works/looks.

Thanks!
Julie

what do you mean by type? Are you looking for a rubber stamp? I've used Rubberstamps.net many times ~ excellent quality, and great turnaround times.

I'm very happy with my stamps from Rubber Stamp Champ. I didn't do it, but they have options to upload designs.

Re: Getting Custom Logo Stamps Made

I have been looking into getting a stamp with my shop's logo on it for some time now, I'll be paying attention to this thread.
There appear to be a few awesome options here on Etsy but some are self inking, some are hand cut, some are unmounted, etc. I just can't decide!

Nicole ~ unmounted just means you have to do that part yourself :) Hand cut is fine unless you need a lot of intricate detail. Most people use machines (like a laser cutter) to cut the rubber. I'd pass on self-inking -- you're limited to one color, and of course have a challenge when the ink runs out. If you plan on using it a lot, i.e. for your logo, just get a standard wood-mounted stamp and you'll be fine :)

Thanks Chris for the info. That is what I was stuck on...wood-mounted, pre-inked, self-inking...so many choices! I think I will stick with the wood mounted one. Seems like you would get more of a "hand made" feel with that type of stamp.

Re: Getting Custom Logo Stamps Made

Hi Julie! I bought a custom logo stamp from Purple Lemon Designs here on Etsy (http://purplelemondesigns.com/), and I LOVE how it turned out. It's a 1.5" x 1.5" wood-mounted stamp, and it works for just about anything. The Purple Lemon site says the owner's away until Sept, but if you don't mind the wait, I highly recommend her services. Good luck!

Re: Getting Custom Logo Stamps Made

I bought a large custom logo stamp from Meagan at http://www.etsy.com/shop/brownpigeon. She helped me with some of my design concerns and delivered a beautiful, handcarved stamp mounted on wood. I've never used a rubber stamp before, but I've been stamping the handled craft paper bags I use for shows with a barn red ink and I love the way it looks. I would describe it as "handmade", but still classy. She was very easy to work with and I would highly recommend her.

i bought a custom rubber stamp from a guy on etsy. it was SUPER tiny so i could stamp my kraft jewelry boxes. i lost it somewhere while moving twice in the last year and a half. but he was very accomodating. i recommend a seller on etsy, in general.

Re: Getting Custom Logo Stamps Made

My shop offers custom stamps. I prefer the mounted with wood handle. It seems to make a better impression as it gives more even pressure. A separate ink pad is required, but you can find those pretty inexpensive at any craft store. I can also do a self-inking. I can use any graphic you like and there are tons of sizes available. Convo me if you are interested. :)
