Frustrated!!! Can't seem to get views from etsy search or google!

I am so frustrated right now. I am trying my best to take great photos, trying to make tags that would be something a buyer would type in google or etsy search, but I'm not getting views from them. I get views from my teams and activity feed, but what is going on that I am not getting views from etsy search or google???

I did get one view from google search and it was for the keywords "Not provided?"
What the??? Am I going crazy or am I just impatient? Is it because I "opened" my shop a few years ago and then never put anything into it until this last month?

Help!! How do I fix whatever I am doing wrong?

Ive given up on etsy search think facebook and twitter may be better for getting views! I spent a fortune on this site renewing and on search ads. As I am now full time crafting I no longer have my salary to waste on here as a proper buisness person I cant afford it anymore keeping my shop open for the convenience of its attachment to my facebook page but thats it. I'm in a very competitive market on here and they dpnt even have an 'original fabric category' even though I have requested it several times. Why does Generic heather miller get a category??but us small time designers dont its bizarre and i'm sick of it!
That said I think its a great shopping site but not that great for sellers

Have you had a read through the sellers handbook? http://www.etsy.com/blog/en/2012/the-seller-handbook/

It is pure gold for tips and ideas for your shop, at a glance I'd search the handbook for help on titles and keywords. You might benefit from re-jigging them so the first few words are key search phrases :)

I don't have many items but I seem to get found on Etsy a lot through the Etsy search engine. And, I don't renew unless I need to or the item gets sold. Of course, there are items that get viewed more than others due to my title and tags, which may need to be tweaked. Don't give up and keep on tweaking - it works for me. :)

I agree with katy. Showing up in search, for me, is always about finding the best tags and titles. Think about your listings the way people would actually be shopping for them, both in details, like "butterfly earrings," and in a broader scope, like"fall fashion." I've also found that it may take a couple of days for a recently tweaked listing to start to reap the benefits of my changes, so be patient!

I just read an article from etsy saying Google does not pass on the words used to find your item anymore, thus the 'not provided.' :-/

Etsy is really competitive, and it's hard to get buyers to wade through to your stuff. Many successful sellers were already successful before they got to Etsy, or became successful outside of Etsy. If you want to increase views and sales online ONLY, I would suggest reworking your titles to include tag words, and also shop around and see what people are interested in; try to incorporate that in your work. Otherwise, it's just try until it works out. It will work out, if you keep at it.

Thanks so much for all of your input. I think my biggest problem is that I'm not sure what I would use to search for something to buy is what someone would type to find my stuff. I think I'm stuck looking at the trees and not seeing the forest!! What would you type in to search for a bangle/bracelet? Or a necklace? Do you already know exactly what you want or do you browse? I know I usually know what I want and search accordingly... but I'm sort of a "original" so I can't always trust how I think will be how another person does it.

I think I read somewhere that you should be able to tell what the item is by your tags. I don't think you can use the word 'gift' in tags, so you could toss those and add in more tags that describe your item better. Your items look beautiful!

I am also very frustrated that I don't get views, much less sales. In fact, I've never sold one thing I've made!! I know that my items are quality, in fact, better quality than some items that are selling. I just can't tweak any more. Even 20 cents per listing adds up when you don't sell anything. It doesn't encourage me to list a bunch more stuf... :(

Chloeswirl you need more items! The number of views you get in a day usually equal the number of items you have in your shop. And how do I wear your headbands? Your photos are great, but show me a photo of someone wearing one so I can see myself wearing it! Also, I know many others who have seen searches drop when they started defining a style for their work. You might try removing the styles and see if that helps!
