First custom order!! And I think I got a little OVER excited....

I recieved a convo last night for my first ever custom order! YAY! It was for 100 of my hang tags however she wanted them in Ivory instead of the natural cardstock. No problem! I was super excited to have someone pick me out of everyone that does hang tags here!
However I realized that I had just used a bunch of my Ivory paper and didn't have enough. So I ran to Michaels and grabbed a pack! No biggie! I hurried home to start on the order! (After all, I have heard that a quick response to your buyer is good!) I made the order and BOOM its listed as a custom order! YAYAYAY!........right??

And then I remembered my senses..... Um, that's why I have a POLICY PAGE isn't it? lol I was supposed to create the listing for her and have her PAY for the item.... THEN create it!

Now, I am just waiting and hoping she comes back soon to pay for it.... I sent her a convo last night saying it was ready and listed....

lol Oh well, That is how I learn I guess! This is a huge learning experience for me and I am just so happy to have had the chance to create a custom order and learn from it already!

Hah it is exciting, and you always want to get started right away!! At least it wasn't something super personal that you couldn't resell to someone else!

Congrats on your order! I'd wait a few days for a response, and if she doesn't get back to you, just change it from a custom order to another item listing. Since they're blank, I'm sure someone else would love them. Lovely shop, by the way!

I also made something before getting a payment, in fact after the 8th convo,I knew she wasn't going to buy, but I liked the idea so much I just wanted to make it. It then sold 2 days later and continues to bring traffic to my shop.

If they're not custom printed you would at least be able to list them and sell them to anyone in general. Your desire to serve your customers is admirable!

Good for you, I've seen your tags, in fact they are pinned on my pinterest board. The lucky buyer is getting a very adorable product. I'll have to remember to wait for payment if I ever get a custom order. Thanks for sharing your experience.
