Finally organizing patterns o-O

I've crocheted for years and never organized my patterns, slips of paper, many just started notebooks, some memorized, FINALLY getting them all organized and making every one to test. WOW, that takes a lot of time, but I think it will save time in the long run, not having to fiddle around to make something. Doing the same thing with all my sewing patterns that were mostly in my head and never put on paper, besides the odd post-it here and there. If so ever lose it I will go crazy!! Is organization a problem for all of you, or actually enjoyable? Any advice? And no, I'm not very computer-savvy....

I started doing this same thing a couple months ago then got too busy to keep up. I definitely need to get back to it as I've drafted a few new patterns since then and they are scattered about. I'd be interested in advice too...

I keep all of my drawings for my crochet in a 3 inch binder. In the past 5 years the binder is full to the seams. Older drawings are kept in a very large dresser drawer (over 20 years worth). I love that etsy keeps our sold items available, because I can look at the sold items and remake the item.

I try very hard to be organized but ....... for some reason it seems to be must easier when I'm working to be organized at the office. When my kids were little I had boxes in my trunk, one for the PTA stuff, one for little league stuff, one for cheer leading, etc. I was divorced and doing it all by myself but now that they're grown up and out on their own and I"m married, I keep trying

Fortunately, being organised is not a problem for me. I'm an organised person by nature but I have found that it's also a habit that can be developed over time but requires patience and persistence. It might be tedious and boring but it saves a lot of time in the long run and reduces frustration.
