Feeling Divided

Its so frustrating to me that i feel so divided all the time. On the one hand, i am so proud of myself for all the things i have learnt in the past 6 months. I feel like creative difference in the products i was producing 6 months ago to the ones i am able to make now is so huge and i have come so far....
But on the other hand, i have now been open 6 months and i still have basically no sales. I feel discouraged that the products i make now still arent selling at all.
When i started out i had the goal of making this my full time job one day, i know it takes a lot of time and hard work but i feel my sales are way too low for the amount of time and work i am putting out.
Im not sure what to do now... I love what i do but how can i make more sales?

Re: Feeling Divided

You have a beautiful shop. The major thing I noticed was your shipping. I looked at the donut soap. $7.95 for the first item and $6.95 for each additional item. So essentially if a US customer purchased two of your donut listing they would have to pay $14.90 in shipping. That's way too much. Can you ship flat rate?

Another thing I noticed was your titles/tags. To be seen more you need to have your first 2-3 title words match your first tag. So for example:

Luxury Soap, Doughnut Soap, Dessert soap, Novelty Soap, party favors

Your first tag needs to be "luxury soap" then "doughnut soap"

I'm in the US and we spell it "donut."

Your bath bomb listing:

You have the first two tags "bath" and "bomb" Etsy wants you to use 2 and 3 word tags.

I've found it helpful and have read that when people put links in their listings people stay in their shop longer and buy more. So you could put

For more bath bombs click here:
(and put your shop section bath bombs here)

I hope this helps. You have beautiful items. Etsy isn't as easy to sell on as it used to be. Do you blog? Social network? Do you advertise locally via flyers, biz cards, etc?

Re: Feeling Divided

Oh, and two easy changes:

1. Put a shop link in the first part of your profile page.
2. Expand on your shop announcement by stating what kind of b&b products your shop carries.

I just want to say that I hear you and it is not always easy...Maybe just step away from it for a little while and come back when refreshed. I don't mean close your shop or anything but just step back and put it in a different perspective. all the best!

Re: Feeling Divided

PS I just want to add something to what 1337art mentioned: not everyone in the US spells doughnut "donut." I'm from VA, and I don't think I've ever seen it spelled that way here. Just something to keep in mind, in case you're thinking of changing it.
