Favorites?

I get the vast majority of my favorites from other team members, and most of my sales the person has not favorited the item first. I love getting favorites, as it feels like a big compliment, BUT

Are they very important to sales? Do they help you get found?

I ask partially because for the past 24 hours I have gotten zero favorites, which is unusual for me, but my views have been great.

I have found that the things I sell are not favorited by the buyer either. I think favorites are helpful in getting found. When someone favorites your item it is shared with everyone in their circle and that increases the amount of people viewing it.

I've had one sale that I had a gut feeling it was coming. The buyer favorited several items and my shop, she had just registered on the site and I was the only one in her favorites (still am!). Within a few days of her adding all that stuff to her favorites she made a purchase. I figure she was sitting on it for a few days before she made a decision. Other than that, like the OP here, most of my favorites are from team members. A lot of them are the same people that seem to favorite everything (they have thousands of items in their favorites). I get more excited when a buyer account favorites one of my items or my shop.

It seems to me that real buyers don't fav,and the guy who favs a lot won't buy.
Both favs and sales are good,so it seems fine,lol.

Most of my sales were not favorited. Buttttt, I do like that other shop members favorite my item because it gets me 'seen' on ETSY...shop members also buy but like many, including myself, they don't buy right away :)

I have actually been noticing an increase in sales from folk who have favourited recently. I know that I favourite things that I may consider buying in the future. I guess some other people do too.

I actually have had a number of sales from people who favorited my items. Most of them were for cake toppers though, so perhaps it's different when people are favoriting items for comparison shopping purposes.

I know when I favorite it can be for many different reasons. Sometimes I want to buy something later, sometimes I think its cool (but not necessarily something I can afford/need) and sometimes I want to help out the shop owner
