Picasa from google. SUPER easy photo editing software. Free and easy to use and gets great results. You can also add text to your pictures very easily.

Fotofuze for making the white background washed out- we're talking the super sterile, blind-your-eyes white. Super easy and pulls pictures directly from your Etsy shop so no need to upload them separately. (fotofuze.com)

I use iPhoto (comes with Mac's) or photoshop for all of my editing...however picasa is a great free alternative! good luck :)

I'm a Photoshop girl, but GIMP (which is free) is really good. I use it on my Linux box.

Picasa for me. Automatic or manual color adjust. Ability to manually punch in sizes for cropping. Simple to add text. Also, Moo printing can download your photos from Picasa for business cards, etc. A great tool for free!!!

I use photoshop as I have it already for 'the day job'. I would advise anyone just wanting to do photo editing and basic re-touching to avoid it; you'll waste too much time getting to grips with the software Go Gimp.
