I'm just curious about this. Will faving other jewelry shops be bad for me and the other shop or good? Just curious, I'm doing spotlights on my blog and I'm wondering what I should do when I come across another person who does similar jewelry products? And I love to support my teammates but will faving shops with similar items be bad for both of our businesses?
I can't imagine how favoriting a shop would be bad for either shop in any way. A favorite is a way of showing that you admire what someone has made. It never hurts to promote the work of others in addition to your own. You will be bringing more traffic to Etsy as a whole, which will only help your shop too.
That's a really good question Courtney! I've asked myself the same thing so I won't be of much help to you. I tend to stay away from favouriting jewelry shops similar to mine, as jewelry is a very saturated category.
What I personally do is favourite items that I really love from their shop to show my support. I'd love to hear other comments on the subject though!
Good Etsy Karma is my byword. Do unto other sellers as you would like other sellers to do unto you. It will come back to you, sometime, some way, as an unexpected kindness or thoughtfulness from someone else selling jewelry like yours.
