Facebook #hashtags

Seen several other artists, I've liked using them........a LOT of them o0

I don't know how much good hashtags will do on Facebook at all.

Hashtag is a tag embedded in a message posted on the Twitter microblogging service, consisting of a word within the message prefixed with a hash sign.

I used them before in my older FB account but I'm not sure they worked. That's why I stopped using them and post a link to my items instead.

Ya they are suppose to work outside of your friends and likes.

two ways I know is type #whatsevers in the search bar or one can click a blue #word in a post... and it will pop up recent posts with that hash tag..........from what i can tell by anyone on FB

Do the hashtags work when using a facebook business page or is it just for personal accounts?

They work on personal and business pages. If you click the hashtag it will bring up thousands of people who have already used the same tag.

A hashtag basically finds anyone speaking or is relevant to that's specific tag, but hashtags are mainly used in twitter, unlinke facebook, in twitter the hashtag produces instant live chatting convos about the specific hashtag, many people have their twitter linked with facebook, I used to have them linked but many people on facebook hated that, they know that by you using the hashtag it's coming from twitter and it's a lazy FB post.

I haven't really used them. I kind of find them to be annoying. They're highly overused.

Just to throw this out there because I don't think people realize it - Hashtags are now on facebook. It used to be a 'twitter thing' but they have now integrated it onto facebook as well. You don't have to do anything other than put a hashtag before your phrase and it will link.

Generally speaking they are over used. But as with twitter and everyone else who uses hashtags, they CAN be useful. But you need to know what your target market are saying and using and you need to use it appropriately. I could personally care less about them so wont bother researching it, but if you put the leg work in - you can get something out of it too! You just need to decide if its worth it to you!

Yes, hashtags are now being used extensively on Facebook. Where I see them most often, however, are on political posts.
