Facebook ads seem to work! :)

Hey everyone! I just want to let you know that if you haven't let tried the Facebook ads you may want to jump on it. I have had quite a bit of interest in my shop and have only been running the ads for a few days. :).

I'm giving it a try as of today. Can't wait to see what effect it will have. Fingers crossed!

I keep thinking about this - if you don't mind me asking Brittany, what sort of thing did you write on your advert? Did you offer a promotion or anything?

Re: Facebook ads seem to work! :)

I've had 12 new likes in the past 24 hours since I started mine, but not sure if it means more traffic to my shop. Essentially how it works is that you advertise your facebook page and the ad takes you to that page. They then can like it or not. You can pay by impression or by click (I recommend by click). Here's hoping. Oh and if you have 50 or more facebook likes on your current page they will give you 50 free dollars (until April 1) and if you can score another 100 likes (from whereever you started) by April 1 you can get another $100 in free ad cash. I don't have the link on my but it is in one of the other threads. Just search 'facebook ads'

Re: Facebook ads seem to work! :)

Please be careful to turn off the campaign the second your voucher runs out. Otherwise you get a nasty bill. You will not receive a notification that your voucher is used up. You have to keep an eye on it yourself. And don't try and set an end date. It doesn't work :(
I set an end date on mine, and Facebook have said in an email, yes, we can see you set an end date. But the add did not end and the first I knew about it was when they had taken the money for it from my paypal. TIt ran a week over the end date. Even the daily update emails stopped on the end date, but not the ad. Facebook are now ignoring me.

Be sure you have posted the $50 LIFETIME limit on your ad- otherwise, yes, big bill.

Unfortunately the UK voucher is not enough to set a lifetime amount for. It would have been really handy for sure.

Re: Facebook ads seem to work! :)

Thanks for posting all the info! I'm considering running one, but I want to wait until I have 100 items in my shop and at least 50 facebook likes. I'm getting there slowly! I'm still a little nervous about the whole thing!

Re: Facebook ads seem to work! :)

I have been thinking about doing this. My friend has 6,000 likes on his FB business page mostly all from FB ads. He said to link the ad to your FB page, not your store.
