Facebook Categories

I want to link my Facebook page with my Etsy shop but saw several categories on the link page, like brands and products, community, local shops, etc. To me, I think I would be classifed an artist but wanted to check with others to see what they did.

I categorize my FB as a Local Business.

I don't think it matters which one you choose. It is my understanding that they all do the same thing. I did Brands & Products because there was an option for jewelry there. Check out my facebook if you want to see if its different from the previous poster.

Just to show that it's really a personal decision: after a fair amount of debate, I chose "Small Business"....mostly to implicate that there is a person behind my brand, and it's not about selling so much as a full idea, an aesthetic, tied to a person, rather than just a product that people can 'like'. Also, for me, "local" implied a static place, and because the web is (of course) global, and I ship globally, I wanted to posit my business, myself, and my brand as more than localized to one place.

It's been so long since I set up a page one my personal fb, but I think I put artist. Then after so many likes it's become a page of its own. Though, frankly I don't understand fb that much - it's a moving target in my mind. ;)
