FREE SHIPPING PROMOTION

Hi,

I'm thinking to make a free shipping promotion to elevate the trafic and sells.
If you have use them, how did they work for your shop? I'll love to hear your experience.

I tried free shipping and I thought it was counter productive, I'd just work on SEO rather than lose money with free shipping.

Free shipping is nice, when the miority of your orders are domestic, else you'll loose too much money. Indeed, better work on SEO.

Personally, I'd much prefer if a seller offered combined shipping on items.

'Free shipping' really isn't free as its incorporated into the cost of the item and if a customer purchases more than one item from a shop, they are essentially paying full shipping on both items.

Have you tried increasing your marketing, especially outside of Etsy? I've found that helps much more than any discounts or sales.

Thank you all for your advices.
I promote my brand outside Etsy using diferent social medias (Facebook, Instagram & blog). I show part of the working process, give some tips on how to proceed with some techniques, post my last creations and also pictures of people wearing them but I guess that it can always improove the comunication in this medias and post more links to my Etsy shoop.
Ass you suggest, I'll try to focus on my SEO. Before you sell, you have to be found.

Spend your time, effort and extra money on creating more items for your shop - and do not offer free shipping. You need many more items in your shop to get noticed on etsy. Once you have more product, you now have more ways to be found and more things for customers to choose form - THEN your sales will increase.

Do not offer friend shipping. If someone orders and then returns something because they have changed their mind, you will have lost the shipping cost rather than being more or less even.

I agree with Kelly - add more things.

You are right, I need more items. I just came from a shooting this morning so once I edit the photos I'll add them to Etsy, try to work on SEO and see if it works.
