Etsy's shipping notification emails

I have had two customers contact me today, wondering when they will receive their packages.

When I mail my packages I use Etsy's email shipping notification to send my customers the tracking information.

It appears that these emails are not making it to my customers. Has anyone else had trouble with this?

I haven't had any customers complain or inquire about it and I receive a copy of all the shipping notifications I send out in my email. Maybe those 2 particular customers receive a lot of emails and they just got lost in their inbox? I'll be curious to see if anyone else has had the same issues.

I don't always get shipping notifications from Etsy when I buy something. Whenever I sell something (here or ebay) Paypal automatically sends a shipping notification after I print out the postage label.

Yes, I had the same thing today. Weird, as I clicked to send the email notification to my own email address and it WAS there, but the customer said he didn't get it.
Also had some problems this afternoon with listing a new item and posting photos.

Yes, happend to me twice. And the customers checked their spam filter too, so something went wrong between etsy and their mail.

I emailed Etsy expressing my concern and asking if their is a problem with the system - I will let you know what I hear back! I have always gotten a copy of the notification emailed to me but evidently that doesn't mean much ;-)

Thanks for the warning. I just sent an email to my buyer just in case they did not get my notification through etsy.

I have a question on the same subject:
If I change the status of an order from unshipped to shipped, without adding anything to "shipping notification" does the costumer receivean e-mail? (Or at least supposed to?)

Dalia, just changing the status doesn't send any notification. They would have to check the status on their etsy purchases list to see that change. You have to actually click the send notification email. I suppose you could send a blank one but you might as well write something nice in there!

yes, this happened to me recently too. The seller sent me an email the day after I posted her purchase saying she'd not heard anything from me at all since purchasing the item.

I had sent her my usual "thanks for you purchase, I'll post it in x days time" convo, and a shipping notification. I wondered if she'd missed the convos as she was a brand new buyer, but perhaps it never got to her in the first place

I do send them a convo as soon as I see an order, letting them know the day I will send it.

I would just resend them their tracking information and stuff.
