I stopped into a new boutique today in town that looked so charming and cute. As I looked closer at the items I realized it was a conglomeration of handmade items by a range of local artists. I told the women behind the counter that her store was beautiful and I'm also an artist... She asked me If I sold on Etsy I said yes She said she was on Etsy now on her laptop, what was my shop name...
To make a long story short she checked it out and saw it was already added to her favorites and she found my shop when looking for local sellers and loved my cheerful work
I looked at her shop and saw I recognized her art as well and had favorited them too :) What a small world!!! It was soo nice to see the face behind each other's shop and we had a great chat
Etsy is a great community Wish I could meet you all :) :) xx Laura
Yay! That's so awesome! I live in Texas, and not very many people have even heard of Etsy here (much less understand what "handmade" really means), but I can not wait until they do! It'll be nice to have a few experiences like that :)
When I do shows or talk to people in the art community or buyers of art or craft, they always ask if I'm on Etsy. Never any other site, actually, always Etsy. My reputation goes up a notch if I am, it seems
My building has a regular mailman who is aware of what I'm doing but the coolest part was when his substitute noticed an envelope I was sending was marked "Etsy" on the label and he said "Cool, you have an Etsy shop! What's the name of it?" I happened to have a business card on me and gave it to him.
Hey Mallory! I will be spending six weeks in Texas this winter as I am retiring. We are so excited. We have been to South Padre before and loved it. We are going to Rockport and SP this time. Can't wait!
