Etsy Sucess and Feedback

I'm fairly new to Etsy and working on trying to make my little shop a success. I've just recently had my 10th sale (very happy about it) but have been promoting quite a bit using Facebook and Etsy. I've updated my tags to hopefully generate more views but I am not sure on how to grow from here. I still only receive maybe 12-15 views a day.

I'm looking to make any improvements I can to my store and would appreciate some feedback. Part of my struggle is that I sell all "made to order" items as I do not want to have a ton of unsold ready made items in my home, thus everything listed has been created for friends or customers.

Any Ideas on how to go about growing from just a handful of views a day and generating more sales? I have already used coupon codes for FB followers and return customers. How much advertising is necessary?

Great items, I would definitely work on adding more items to your shop if possible, the more listings you have the more people will find you!! You could also brighten up some of your pictures like this one:

Just a quick fix with some photo-editing software.
Otherwise just keep at it, your descriptions are good, and your items are beautiful!! Good luck!!

Re: Etsy Sucess and Feedback

Mike & Mollie,

Thank you. Really do appreciate the feedback. I have actually contacted some local photographers in the area to see if they would exchange professional pictures for some props to use in their photography. I'm hoping that will work in regards to getting some better shots.

I do have a hard time figuring out how to add new items when everything is made to order. Perhaps adding a ready to ship section may be a good idea?

Wow your items are cute! You could try edditing programms like picassa to enhance your photos because they look quite dull. You can add more light and contrast so that your items pop more!

Re: Etsy Sucess and Feedback

Hey Paula! When I first started, I made ready to ship items, but had the option of making each blanket or item custom or personalized. My shop has grown so that I do 100% custom work. I'd say to make different things as ready to ship items so that you have more listings so people can find you. I know you don't want inventory laying around the house, but if it helps your shop grow at first, why not take that step?
Another option is to make a separate listing for each size or color, just so customers can find you. Change up the title slightly just to see which keywords bring in the customers.
The Berry-licscous hat is adorable! You might want to rename it as a strawberry baby hat photo prop right in the listing, but still include Berry licious since it's a sort of 'branding'. One of my girlfriends is child photographer and 'photo prop' and 'newborn picture prop' are her most searched keywords.
Just something to think about!
