Etsy Search Ad

We're trying the Etsy search ads for the first time, not sure they're really working for us. How do other people feel about them?

They never worked for me. I tried them last year during the holidays and will not planning on doing them again.

I found doing keyword rich listings and lots of listings does more than the search ads.

I did seach ads the first couple weeks and had lots of views no sales. I started re-listing about 2x a day got viewer views but 2 sales. I think re-listing is the way to go.

I've done them twice and never got a sale from them, so haven't been tempted to try again

They did not work for me. Participating in forums which leads to favorites and treasuries are much more effective.

Thank you for your thoughtful replies. We're totally having the same reaction. These ads are leading nowhere! It's so funny, because so far, we haven't found anyone for whom these ads have helped...

I agree with the majority of the group. They only help when you are in a very small demographic of an item. Otherwise, it's a waste of money. The sellers who sell a lot of items are always featured the most anyways.

They really do seem to be quite a waste, how disappointing! We were hoping since we're just starting out, that they would give us a little bit of a helping hand...not so much!

I have just had two sales from them though I have not gotten many actual views or sales before. This is the third time that I have tried them. I am excited by the two sales:) I will give it a bit more time.

Tried it once, but it didn't amount to anything. You might be better off using Google Ads.

I'm trying search ads for the first time too. They are not working. I have just narrowed the keywords to the most relevant and hopefully that will help. I"ll give it a few days and if it doesn't work I will take them down.

They can work. You just need to be super duper specific with them in areas your not strong on.

Like my icicles, I can get my relevancy up on them for searches like "glass icicles" but larger searches...like "Christmas ornament" its much harder to get seen. So i use them for that kinda thing.

I also tend to run it only during the holidays, set up specific items.

Does it make hand over fist cash, no...but its covering its own cost plus a bit

I am trying them for the first time and actually am trying what untamed rose suggested above. I am not seeing any results what so ever. It is disappointing because this is suppose to be a benefit but I am not seeing it as such. Plus one really big gripe I have is the search ads say they get our keywords from our own lists. I have pink roly poly glasses that I know I have roly poly spelled right in my keywords. However the search ads insist on changing roly to ROLE poly. Who will ever find me there AND I can't change it. Since Roly Poly is the specific name for these glasses I can't market them through search ads.

We only got two actual views out them for the week we ran the ads, so we finally decided to stop. Maybe we'll try again later.

I've had 5 sales this month from them. So it's not too bad. I am still profiting on them. I am going to keep em up for part of December and then reevaluate.
