Enhancing Photos?

Someone had recommended Pic Monkey to me ... for enhancing photos ... but I'm trying to think of another site which I've used and I just CAN't remember the name!! It made the backgrounds very white. Can someone help me out?? Are there other sites which you would recommend for this??

Re: Enhancing Photos?

I (usually) edit my photos in I-Photo...right on my MacBook Air. Sometimes, it's all I need to make them right...but there are some photos that need more 'help'. Which sites do you like best? (Judy, I think Fotofuze was the one I was thinking of)

Re: Enhancing Photos?

I tried Fotofuze once and didn't care for it. IMO it makes the backgrounds too stark and sterile looking. I recently started using sheet music that I found online (free!) and printed it out onto white paper. I lightened the image in Photoshop before printing it so it doesn't distract from my jewelry. I like the plain white background I used when I first started out there but for some reason I started having issues getting the exposure right so I decided to try something else.

I use Picasa and like it. It just added a heap of new features.

Re: Enhancing Photos?

I use picasa too. . . Love it! So easy.

Less than one minute to crop edit and save if you are on the ball. . .

Re: Enhancing Photos?

I use Photoshop, but if you don't have that, you will need a lot of money to buy it.

My partner says that Gimp is the best (free) alternative.

Re: Enhancing Photos?

If you have a student or teacher in your household and $249 to spare you can get the student/teacher version of Photoshop from Adobe. You need to provide proof of eligibility (the site lists what documents qualify). If $249 is out of your budget they also have Photoshop Elements for $119.

Re: Enhancing Photos?

BeaG...yes, I have an online friend who LOVES Gimp. I must be DENSE because I've just had a lot of trouble understanding how to get started with it. I guess I'm just a very visual person (or a very SLOW person, lol)...I think I'd do a lot better if I had someone to actually SHOW ME how to do it. I'm sure THEN I would get it. Until that day though...I think I'll check out Picassa (which I have used before). I think it's very similar to I-Photo.

Judy, I agree with you re: the starkness of Fotofuze. It looks TOO fake, TOO white. I've tried it but wasn't happy with the results. As far as students in my household, those days are gone!! I do have a stepdaughter who's a teacher though. Don't know if that would count...since she doesn't live home anymore!! I'd rather not spend $249 right now anyhow...so for now, I'll use I-Photo or Picassa. (And maybe ONE DAY...I'll learn how to use Gimp!!) :)

Re: Enhancing Photos?

I use picmonkey for my white backgrounds. I find their cloning feature very helpful.

Re: Enhancing Photos?

Jaime, I'm looking at picmonkey right now...and I don't see anything about a 'cloning' feature? Where should I be looking?
