Drop down advertisements??? I thought etsy was better than that :(

Whats with these new third party advertisements all over etsy? They are offensive, disgusting, and frankly I am startled and extremely disappointed to find them here. I have been so all about promoting etsy up till now, so proud to be a part of this community. If this keeps up, guess I will be looking to expand my business elsewhere. Truly, deeply, bummed out.

Etsy doesn't have advertisements. Try scanning your computer for malware or checking to make sure your browser doesn't have some add-on that's causing them.

It's not Etsy. It sounds like you've picked up malware.

Download a free version Malwarebytes and run a scan. It's pretty good about catching and cleaning up the bad stuff that gets on your computer.

You don't know how relieved I am to hear this--I was getting ready to start a serious etsy strike! I've got a mac and have never had any adds pop up on etsy, so I assumed it was from within the etsy system. Thanks to everyone for getting back so quickly and saving me unnecessary frustration. This makes way more sense, I'm a bit embarrassed for my premature freaking out now ;)

Looks like Malware is specific to windows, and I'm on a mac. Anyone have suggestions for a similar mac-friendly product?

I use Avast! and it looks like they have a version out for Mac, so it might be worth giving them a try.
