Don't forget Occassion Labels and Categories when you renew

Hi Team,
I just want to remind everyone to double check that they specify their Occasion, near the bottom of the form when you edit, and their Categories, on old listings. As you get ready for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas items, these have all changed since last year. I've recently been renewing items and listing new ones for Halloween and Christmas. I've caught myself quite a few times, forgetting to specify the occassion since it is all the way at the bottom. I did it on one that I wrote first and copied for other listings, then had to go into each one and fix it. UGH.
So just reminding everyone, if you renew or copy a listing from last year, the categories won't match and it won't specify your holiday. Also check your things that are on auto-renew. You have to determine where it fits in the new categories, and if you don't, it won't show up where you want it for the shoppers.

I find it kind of discouraging that there is no longer a "holiday" category... I don't know where to put some of my items : /

I would try a couple of different places, if I were you, and see what gets the most traffic. I found AFTER I wrote that post yesterday, that they have just added tree toppers and Christmas trees to the last sub category under Home Decor. So you may find that Oct. 1st they did this to other categories as well. I was able to use the bulk editing tool to change a bunch at once. And be sure the all have Christmas as the occassion if you want them too. But use Holiday tags as well if you want.
One more thing to help, look at your home page and see how they organized the Halloween features. This may give you some idea how they will do Christmas and help you make decisions.
Do you know why this didn't end up in the email last night?
Cindy
