Domain Name?

Where did you purchase your domain name from? I need to do this as I have been putting it off for too long.

Thanks!

Angel

I got mine from Google - I think it's about $10 for a year.

Re: Domain Name?

Godaddy- I used this and they were helpful (~12.99$ a year for a domain). I wished I researched domains from the beginning because I had a company contact me and I ended up having to change my etsy shop name since my shop name was similar to this other company... This time I bought the domain name!
Good luck!

Re: Domain Name?

godaddy.com because of their good telephone tech support if you ever need it in the future, but ONLY DOMIN REGISTRATION. Never buy any of their other stuff. They are the "upsell" champions of the world. Feels like you have to click "no thanks" or "continue to checkout" a dozen times before you finally get to your order form. You can get much better hosting elsewhere, Don't need any of their add on services. But for plain domain registration, godaddy is good.

Re: Domain Name?

If you plan to have a hosted website - buy them together as it will be cheaper then buying both separate(some throw in free domain registration if you host with them).

Re: Domain Name?

I did it through a local business (web hosting/website building) and it cost me $10 for the .com and $10 for the .net, just to be sure. I don't use the .net, but I have it to hold onto the domain. That is per year.

Re: Domain Name?

Use Weebly - then you can set up your site at the same time and everything is incorporated - I find Google VERY difficult to troubleshoot with

Re: Domain Name?

I've been with GoDaddy.com for many many years for just registration, no hosting. I have friends who have used DotEasy.com for registration as well as free basic hosting space.

Re: Domain Name?

Please, use anything but GoDaddy. Not only did they support SOPA, but their executives helped write the bill! Not to mention their upselling, hidden charges, and reputation for poor customer service.

Namecheap.com is just as cheap but don't beat you over the head with upselling and ads. Plus, their user interface is much easier to use.

Re: Domain Name?

thanks for all the references folks!

I actually will not use GoDaddy b/c I think their commercials and advertising are inappropriate. If your best marketing tool is a naked woman than you have nothing to offer me.
