Does the white background look better?

I recently changed most of the backgrounds of my items from pink to white. A relieved a lot of advice from fellow sellers who suggested I changed the pink background for something more perfesional. I changed most of my backgrounds white and I love it. I definitely think it makes my shop look more perfesional and put together. Now that I think about it, the pink background looked unorganized.

Your advice is appreciated! :-)

Actually, yes, they do. The shots are cleaner and sharper. Nice job!

Re: Does the white background look better?

I have tried a lot of backgrounds and white seems to look the cleanest, and people click on those items a bit more. I do use dark backgrounds for some shots just for variety.Try a mix.

Yes, the white for sure. But I kind of like the mix of pink and white you have going in your shop right now!

Re: Does the white background look better?

Thank you ladies! I agree with you Erika. I like how some of the pink backgrounds work well with the white. I might just keep it that way. :-)

Re: Does the white background look better?

I used to have black backgrounds because I thought it would help my items pop. One of the greatest things I've done with my shop is switch everything out to a white background. My shop looks so much cleaner and I'm now picked for more treasuries which leads to more chances on the front page!

Re: Does the white background look better?

When I make treasuries, I often look to mix in a few solid colored backgrounds because it makes the page more visually appealing. Your white pics look great, and your purple/pink backgrounds are also lovely. I'd keep some of both.

Re: Does the white background look better?

The photos that you have are great - better than when I was starting out.

Don't be afraid to be creative too. As a seller with small objects like you, I was intimated to be more creative with the space and taking pictures of my items. It took me a while to incorporate different ways to photograph my accessories - gradually working in props to set my buttons or magnets on, holding them in my hand, etc.

Shop photos that are not the thumbnails is a great way to show your product in different styles and backgrounds - some of my birthday buttons have festive polka dot backgrounds, nerdy ones might have a stars background, etc.

I feel that style vs white background because it's an etsy requirement is more important and will get more attention. :)

The white backgrounds look wonderful! Your products are so adorable and the plain background really highlights them.

Re: Does the white background look better?

I have tried using the black background with my seashell ornament. I thought that the ornament would blend into the white background because of the white shells. The ornament popped off the page with the black. It has a softer look with the white background

Re: Does the white background look better?

When I switched to white backgrounds my sales increased dramatically. Try experimenting with photo fuze too. that will make them pop more. I also think you could zoom in a little more.

Good luck!

Re: Does the white background look better?

Thank you for all your fantastic advice ladies! I definitely agree with what most of you said about keeping a variation of white and pink backgrounds. I love how the white background makes my shop look more professional but I also love how the pink background makes my background look more fun.

I have expiremented with FotoFuze and I did not like it. The white background looked a bit fake too me.
