Does currency setting matter? USD better?

Hello, I'm recently back on Etsy and now I'm excited and ready to get going again!

I have my own website in Japanese so I want to make sure that my Etsy shop pricing is coherent with my Japanese website. The benefit of having my Etsy shop in JPN Yen is that I wouldn't have to always update the pricing with currency exchange. Do Etsy shoppers prefer that the shop is set with US Dollars?

Thanks!
Shoko

I could be wrong, but I think the prices will reset automatically to wherever you ship to. For example, I've noticed all items that come up in US $ in the "large search frame" (multiple listings). When I click on an individual listing, it will tell me what the price is in the country of origin, and then in smaller font it tells me what it is in US $. So I think Etsy will translate everything based on where you ship. Maybe someone knows better than I do, but I think it's in Etsy's best interest to help you get as many sales as possible.

I think Sara's right. When I click on your shop the prices are in U.S. dollars for me. I'm kind of confused though because you say you want your pricing in Japanese, but I when I click on a listing it's in Canadian currency.
