Does anyone have a digital postage scale?

Hello everyone,

I think I've hit that point where making trips to the post office can get a little overwhelming.. especially during busy weeks so I figured I should invest in a postage scale? What do you think? Any experiences?? Chose not to? Chose to? Hows it all going and any brands you would recommend?

Yes! If your items are under 13 ounces, you can mail them right from your mailbox with Paypal shipping labels or other mailing services.

I love the scale that i have! It has made doing my orders through PayPal way more efficient. I found out that I was tell PayPal my items were heavier then they really were and so the scale has saved me a lot of money because now I know that I am accurate!!
SilverSmack: I do that and it is very convenient! I print my PayPal label tape it to my envelope and put it in my mail box with a sticky note that says "Out going mail, thank you!"

I think I bought mine from royalmailers.com (great bubble mailers and sticky labels there too!), but I think I even saw some scales for sale at the post office.

Most of the time using the Paypal shipping labels ends up cheaper than what the Post Office will charge you. ;)

I've got a digital postal scale and I love it! You can purchase one from the post office or from the USPS website. If I'm not mistaken they are only $39.99 on the website.

I wouldn't be without it!

I still drop my packages off at the post office every day, but I only have to wait if I'm shipping something internationally. Other than that, everything else gets dropped on the 'prepaid' counter.

For our packages we just use a simple food scale, which you can get as cheap as $12 or so online. It works great and instantly changes lengthy post office expeditions to simple trips to drop off packages on the counter.

I couldnt be without mine! I use it for postage, formulation of blends, and weighing product for portioning. Totally necessary! They are widely available I just shopped around a bit online and found one at a reasonable price, but I think the smaller ones are all pretty much the same:)

I use the one I bought at the post office (works up to 10 pounds) all the time and don't know how anyone can manage to figure out postage without one! Shipping through PayPal is definitely less expensive than paying at the Post office.

I bought a scale from the Post Office for $39.99 that weighs up to 10 pounds. I use Click-N-Ship through the USPS web site. It offers discounts on shipping costs and free tracking and confirmation. Since I live across the street from the Post Office, it's what I use and I love it.

LOL....That is so funny that your mailman in the US will take your mail from your mailbox. That soooooooooo wouldn't happen here in Canada!!!! Everything has to go into a post box or into the post office.

Love being able to do print my own shipping labels/postage from PayPal. Saves me a LOT of time, since I don't have to wait in line at the post office.

I love mine! and now that I use PayPal shipping labels I only need to go to the PO when an item doesn't fit in my mailbox!

I'd totally recommend it. I kick myself for not switching to PayPal shipping earlier. It's really easy to do.

So another question now that I have been browsing...

everyone loves their scale and paypal shipping.
A couple ppl are asking for how you set up paypal shipping or tips/tricks on how to go about this. I rarely use paypal shipping so if anyone is more experienced, please share!

Also, I'm attempting to find a scale that doesn't run off batteries. I've read that most come with a 9volt or whatever is required of them but do any of you have one that just charges through an outlet? I'd prefer it but I'm having trouble finding good ratings for the brands I'm coming across.

I have the scale from the post office and I am very happy with it. I print all my labels via paypal( delivery confirmation is on $.18), I only go to the post office for international shipping. I even switched to purchasing shipping labels for my printer rather than paper and cutting and taping ( I purchase 8 1/2 by 11 ones and cut them in half and they work perfect. ).
